Chamberton Publishing
Fiction at its finest.

Information

Chamberton Publishing, a small independent press, is committed to publishing great fiction and nonfiction.  Initially the premiere publisher for founder and author T.K. Richardson, Chamberton is pleased to open its doors and welcome other talented authors into the Chamberton family.  We believe in authors. We believe the stories they write have value and can have a lasting contribution to our readers.

We are not a subsidy publisher. Nor do we offer author services at this time. We simply look for fresh voices, and compelling stories that we believe in, and publish great books. We are currently focusing on publishing anthologies in a wide range of genres.

Reaching a broad audience for our books, we refrain from labels, but remain very selective in the stories we choose, while staying true to our conservative values. We focus on books for all ages and for all people. From poetry, cookbooks, anthologies, novellas, and novels, Chamberton is committed to publishing quality books.

You can find our titles everywhere books  and ebooks are sold.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does it cost the author anything to submit their work or be published by Chamberton Publishing?

A:
No. There are no costs to the author.

Q: Will all books published by CP be in print and ebook?

A:
That depends on the book and what our current goals are for each project.

Q: Will I receive a free author copy of the book if I am published by Chamberton?

A:
No. Chamberton cannot supply author copies of ebooks or print books. As a small publisher it is simply cost prohibitive at this time.

Q: Do authors have to help with any costs (ie. editing, cover design, layout)?

A:
No. Chamberton Publishing bears all publishing costs. (We're publishers - that's what we do.)

Q: How long will it be before I hear back about a submission?

A:
Please allow up to 3 weeks for a response. We receive many submissions each day and each story deserves our thoughtfulness, time, and attention.

Q: Why was my submission declined?

A:
There are a number of reasons a story is not accepted by Chamberton. Most often the answer is simple - it did not fit what we were looking for. Many well written and original stories pass through our hands and most of them are wonderful. However, we have very specific guidelines and themes for each project and those that don't fall in line with that are not accepted.

Q: Can you give me feedback about my writing or my story?

A:
We would love to be able to, but we don't have the staff to spend that much time on each story.

Q: Do you offer any  fee based author services?

A:
No.

Q: Is Chamberton Publishing paying a good rate for their submissions?

A:
According to a leading author site Chamberton Publishing pays between professional and semi-professional rates.

Q: If I'm published with Chamberton can I help promote the anthology/book by doing blog tours and/or seeking reviews?

A:
Yes! We would love our authors to help promote our books. However, this is not a requirement, nor will we ask.

Q: How often will Chamberton Publishing be open to submissions? Once a year? Twice a year?

A:
We have no set time frame. Submissions may be open several times a year. Currently we have numerous projects in the works and we highly recommend authors sign up for our newsletter. That way as soon as submissions open authors are the first to know.

What authors are saying about Chamberton Publishing -

I've got a story in one of this series (Limelight), and I just wanted to vouch that it's been a very pleasant experience--prompt payment, nice rates, etc. If you write short stories, I'd recommend Chamberton as a market.
-Edward W. Robertson

Yes, and [ I want to mention] the professionalism of Chamberton, and T.K.
-J.S. Dunn,
author of Bending the Boyne
